Alex Fam is a spirited folk/jazz singer-songwriter and creative forest fairy. A witty and heart-centered songwriter, Alex centers community-involvement, playfulness, and whimsy in her performances and projects.
Alex is currently working on writing a musical, playing shows with “Feltheart” (a collaborative folk/jazz band) and co-producing a Unitarian Universalist album.
Alex's music reflects her spontaneity and openness on stage, incorporating ukulele and violin accompaniment, audience participation, a loop pedal and uplifting lyrics. When performing with her band, her ensemble includes strings (cello/violin), keys, guitar, and percussion.
Alex frequently uses multiple art forms in performances and art creation including collage, stop motion videos, dance, and live painting. She create a 9-part video series “Creative Lab Sessions” in summer 2022, collaborating with a wide range of artists.
Alex has toured throughout the Northeast and North Carolina.
When Alex is not writing and performing her original music, she helps children with communication disabilities learn to express themselves to their fullest potential. She also spends time learning to do cool things on trapeze and making fairy mushroom house art.
